Meet Our Talented Staff

Vanessa Hutchings- Owner and Studio Director 

Vanessa Hutchings is one of the most accomplished performers and dance teachers in Southern Tier New York. As a dancer, she has performed at numerous local venues including museums, malls, and the Broome county arena. Miss Vanessa is a highly praised dancer with particular expertise in the genres of acrobatics and contortion. She began an impressive career of success when she won a local talent show in 2006. She then went on to win “Binghamton’s Got Talent 2007.” Then took it all the way, winning the New York state Fair first place prize out of 250 contestants in a talent competition.

 

In the dance competition world, Vanessa has won some of the most impressive awards and titles possible including being named overall winner of the entire solo division at Terpsichore Dance Celebration in 2009. At the United States Tournament of Dance (USTD), she was named Miss Acrobat 16 and up and in 2009 and in 2010 she held onto the same title and was additionally crowned Queen of Dance. At Sophisticated Productions Dance Competition, Vanessa, in both 2009 and 2010, received the title Teen Miss Sophisticated at BOTH the regional and national competitions. In 2011 at Starpower National dance competition, Vanessa’s jazz solo earned her an award as one of the overall top 20 soloists for ages 16 and up. Many of her students have followed in her footsteps and won numerous titles and awards.

 

As a teacher and choreographer, Miss Vanessa is equally as accomplished. She won the $250 prize for choreographing the highest scoring large group at Terpsichore Dance Celebration in 2009 and the $500 prize as best choreographer at the Sophisticated Productions national competition. In 2010, also at Sophisticated Nationals, she choreographed and taught 3 separate overall winning routines including for Solos 6 and under, Solos 7-8, and Solos 9-10 as well as for Duo/Trios 9-10. At the Nextstar Competition in 2011, she choreographed the overall winning routine for soloist ages 8 and under and she choreographed the overall winning routine for large group ages 12 and under, which was impressive enough for the group to attend national competition free of charge. In June 2011, Vanessa was given a special judges award for outstanding Choreography at USTD. Finishing her last year as a choreographer in New York, Vanessa proudly accepted the overall Choreography award at Sophisticated Productions dance competition. In June 2012, one of Miss Vanessa’s students received the title “Miss Acrobat of New York.” Vanessa also choreographed a contortion piece, which won overall highest scoring solo of the entire competition. Both awards were present at USTD. 

 

In July of 2012 Miss Vanessa moved to Southwest Florida where she worked for one of the most impressive studios in the area. After one year of working at RDA, she was then given her own competition team. She grew that group from 5 to 30 kids. During her time with this group she went on to win many awards. Some include Bravo 2013 Choreography award for large group, Bravo 2014 Choreography award for large and small group,  “Most Entertaining Routine” award, 1st place overall large and small group, Turn It Around 2014 1st place large and small group, Shake The Ground Choreography award 2015, Bravo Choreography award 2016 and 2017 and Primetime Choreography award 2018. Also, While in Florida, Vanessa ran her own business where she traveled to 20 different preschools during the day and taught dance. So she also has a love for the littlest of dancers. After all that’s where it all begins!

 

After moving back to NY, Vanessa picked up right where she left off and taught at Kingston Rose Dance Academy for the past couple of years. Again, winning many overalls and choreography awards alongside her Sister, Torie Hierl. Some of the most recent include, 1st place overall large group, the golden ticket, a choreography award and 1st place overall senior trio at Starpower 2019. In 2020, Miss Vanessa and Miss Torie had an impressive start to their competition season. At Celebration Dance Competition, 1st place overall soloist for petites, juniors and teens, 1st place overall junior jazz group and choreography award, 1st place overall large group lyrical, 1st place overall contemporary trio, 1st place highest scoring group 12 und under of the whole competition, 2 costume awards, 3 dances scored a perfect “Ruby score” and one dancer was named “Dancer of the Year” all under the direction of Miss Torie and Miss Vanessa.

 

Both her sister and herself are so excited about this new venture. They can’t wait to offer the community nothing but the best when it comes to dance!

Victoria Hierl has been dancing since she was two years old, and started teaching at a very young age. She specializes in lyrical, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, technique, and acrobatics. She also has a very strong background in contortion.

 

At the age of 5, Victoria participated in her first competitive solo and won catagory high score overall,which began her passion.

 Over the years she has won many titles from United States Tournament of Dance and Sophisticated  Productions at both regionals and nationals. Some of these include Jr. Miss Sophisticated regional and national title, International Princess Of Dance, Teen Miss acro of NY, Teen Miss Dance Of NY, and Teen Miss Sophisticated title at regionals and nationals.

 

Torie has also taken several master classes and workshops, and has had the opportunity to train with some of the most amazing choreographers like Molly Long.

 

 Her dedication to dance won her the Devin Spears scholarship award from EPAC where she performed in many shows. Torie was selected for both the USTD dance program, and the Acrobatics program.

 

 She traveled and performed at numerous locations including Madison Square Garden, Sea World, Epcot, and Downtown Disney. She also attended a workshop with Cirque du Solie in Orlando where she learned skills in trapeze and silks. Torie has also taken several summer intensives at the famous Alvin Alley in NYC.

 

 Torie then moved to SWFL where she trained under Robin Dawn Dance Academy, and competed with the Legends competitive team.  Torie then started teaching recreationally and competitively at the Dance Warehouse, Gulf Coast Dance Project, Bonita Dance Academy, and Studio 8. This is where she won her first choreography award at the age of 17 from Bravo Dance Competition.

 

When Miss Torie moved back to N.Y in 2018, she began teaching at Kingston Rose Dance Academy. Working alongside her sister Vanessa Hutchings, the two won various awards including overall high scores, and choreography awards. Teaching dance is truly a passion of hers!

Ana McCauley- Ballet Director 

Miss Ana has been dancing for a total of 16 years with a specific focus in Ballet for the past 9 year. She started her training at Leslie School of Dance at the age of 3. At ten years old, she decided she wanted to focus on Ballet so then transferred to Rafael Grigorian School of Ballet where she has been studying ever since. In her 9 years of dancing at RGBT (Rafael Grigorian Ballet Theatre) she has danced in multiple ballets including Cinderella, Carmen, Cipollino, The Nutcracker, Baba Yaga, and Lovely. Some major roles she has landed include young Masha in the Russian Nutcracker 2 years in a row as well as Baba Yaga this past year. 
Along with landing the lead role of Baba Yaga,  she received an invitation to be the dance consultant for the state champion Horseheads Marching Ensemble. Miss Ana took on responsibilities for this role including instructing Ballet, technique and helping with choreography for the dance sections.

Lexx King- Tiny Tot Director, Rec & Competitive Instructor

Lexx has been a competitive dancer for 16 years with experience in all genres of dance. She has helped assist several classes and done choreography throughout her dance career. Lexx is currently working towards her Master's Degree in Social Work at Binghamton University . She is super excited to share her passion of dance with the younger generation!
